Shore side events (Saturday margarita party, dinner and dancing) and registration shall take place at the stage area of Cowichan Tribes Kil-Pah-Las beach which is located on the East side of the Ocean Grand Resort and Marina in Cowichan Bay Village. Moorage will be available at the Government Wharf in Cowichan Bay Village or elsewhere as available within Cowichan or Genoa Bay.


The Regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012, the prescriptions of the CYA, the PHRF Racing Rules, where applicable One Design Class Rules, the Sailing Instructions and any amendments.


Eligibility and Entry:

The Cowichan Bay Regatta is an open event. Eligible boats racing in Handicap Divisions shall have a current PHRF-NW rating or a One-Design Division may be established with no less than 5 class-eligible boats

Registration will open at 1600 hrs on Friday July 31st and will remain open until 1800, then will re-open 0830 August 1st remaining open until 1000 hrs when registration will complete. All boats shall be considered entrants upon receipt of a completed entry form, certification of liability of no less than $500,000, (CDN) and payment of a registration fee of $60. This fee includes one dinner ticket but does not include moorage. Further dinner tickets are available for purchase at the registration desk.


Racing Information:

The Sailing instructions will be available upon registration and will be included in the skipperís package.

Skippers meeting will be held at 1000 hrs Saturday, August 1st near the stage on the Cowichan Tribes Kil-Pah-Las beach.

Saturday, August 1st - Racing shall commence 1130 hrs weather permitting (if the doctor is in). Courses to be sailed in and around scenic Cowichan Bay. A second race to be sailed following the first. If possible, time and weather permitting. A possible further race will be attempted, this may be class dependent.

Sunday Aug 2nd - Race (or races) to be sailed around the Bay commencing at 1130 hrs, weather permitting.

One Design Fleets should contact the race committee on Friday night to confirm # of entrants and discuss any requests!

Current O/D Fleets are J-80ís, Martin 242ís and the SC 27ís.

Trophies shall be awarded following Sundays race after final scoring is completed.
